Our Smithy's Blend needs no introduction such is its popularity with red wine lovers across the country. However, where vintage allows, we have been known on occasion to include a single varietal into the range. 

In the midst of the 2022 vintage we were offered a small parcel of Shiraz that we had no fixed need for, however it was simply too good to pass up. From the same vineyard responsible for our Single Vineyard Shiraz, this wine was grown on an adjoining block, and echoes many of the same qualities. Spicy dark fruits, a classically earthy note so typical of Rutherglen, and fine-grained tannins. 12 months in seasoned French and American puncheons adds a firm oak backbone. A serious Shiraz at a not so serious price. 

Enjoy now, and will cellar well over the coming 5-6 years.
