2018 Reserve Malbec
I've said it before and I'll say it again- Malbec is one of very few varieties in which I actually really like to see some herbaceous characters. Perhaps it's the juiciness of the blue/black fruit profile and approachable tannins that make this union so blissful. Maybe it's that the herbaceous qualities it displays are more appealing to me- a "noble" herbaceousness if you will. Whatever it is, I'm onboard the Malbec-train. Toot toot!
Bright ruby red in colour with a purple hue. Tobacco leaf, dried thyme and roasted fennel aromas are wrapped in the subtle toasty spice of French oak. The palate is light to medium bodied and floods the mouth with fresh blueberries, mulberries and plums. The powdery texture of the fine-grained tannins builds mouth feel in this easy-drinking, charismatic wine.
