2017 Single Vineyard Rutherglen Shiraz
Made entirely from fruit sourced to the East of the Rutherglen township, this is only our second release of this label. Lean soils and deficit irrigation keeps cropping levels low and the ensuing fruit, bursting with flavour and personality. We have kept this parcel separate to our existing Reserve and Parola's labels in an effort to maintain the consistency of these wines, while fully embracing this new addition as being worthy of the Warrabilla name.
Impenetrable inky black core with a very deep bright dark red black hue. Intense aromas of ripe black cherries, licorice and blackberries rise from the glass over a background of dark chocolate and spicy vanillin oak. Super concentrated with rich black cherry liqueur like fruit, licorice and confectionary infusions, there’s also plenty of structure to this monstrous Shiraz. A good dose of vanillin oak is also present. Spicy finish with firmly built tannins and bright acidity providing the framework to the gob full of opulent fruit. Long licorice, black cherry, vanillin oak and spicy pepper aftertaste.
